A Day In A Student’s Life

As I stepped into the lovely building,
I saw the awesome structure of the building.
Students walked by; some going to classes and some going for meals,
Yet I went to class for lecture.
I took a seat and placed my file on the table.
I turned my head towards the door,
There I saw my lovely lecturer slowly descending from the steps.
She picked up the microphone and began to introduce herself,
“Good morning class. My name is Miss Lim.”
She gave the class a warm smile,
In return we gave her our attention.
“You there,” she pointed, “What’s your name?”
“John,” came the reply.
“How about the gentleman sitting next to you?” she asked.
“Henry,” said the boy.
This went on and on until everyone was introduced.
“And now class, we shall begin with Chapter 1”
We took out our notes and books.
She began to teach,
We took down notes and scribbled here and there.
She gave illustrations and began to joke.
We laughed to her jokes as they were funny.
“Okay class, we will go for a ten minutes break and then we will continue with our lecture,” said the lecturer.
We rushed to the ladies and gents room.
We looked in the mirror, combed our hair, and adjusted our clothes.
Contented, we dashed back to class.
The lecture continued until finally it was lunch time.
“Class dismissed, we shall meet again next week,” she went.

We grabbed our belongings and headed to the canteen.
There was a long line.
Girls and boys were queuing up to purchase their lunch.
Soon my turn came, I grabbed a plate of chicken rice,
Placed money in the hands of the attendant and walked away.
I took a seat and began savouring my food.
After finishing my scrumptious meal,
I left the table and proceeded to the library.

At the library,
I showed my identification card to the guard and walked in.
I rushed upstairs to the next floor,
There, I went to one of the shelves, gazing from book to book,
Until finally I saw the book I wanted.
I took the book from the shelf and went to the counter.
I had wanted to borrow the book to study for the weekend.
After completing my “transaction” I went out of the library,
Happy and contented, I headed for the computer lab.

I wanted to take the lift up to the third floor,
However the lift was full.
Therefore the next option I had was to use the staircase.
I paced up from floor to floor till I finally reached the third floor.
There, I entered one of the rooms,
I took a seat and began surfing the net,
Finding for notes and checking my emails.
It took me quite a while,
But soon all was done.

All went well for today.
What a life!
This is a day in a student’s life.
