"Nostalgia"

This is a story about me and my childhood bestfriend.

The first photo is taken on 3rd Jan 1998 on my birthday. I am the one in the middle with braces while my bestfriend Bell is the one with baby blue top with braces on her teeth too:) We grew up together since we were 10 and 8 years of age (I am 2 years older). On that day is actually the last day we hangout together because her family is shifting to Singapore. We had lost contact for about 10 years since both of us were busy.

On 7th Feb 2008 (last chinese new year) is the day when we first met in 10 years. My family was in Singapore to celebrate Chinese New Year there. We spent 3 days to catch up on each other.

When we first met, I was shocked to see her. She had change a lot! But still as talkative as ever. She is majoring in fashion and studying in Lim Kok Wing University. We are quite near with each other but yet so far. But now we hangout a lot. Almost every week when we got the chance to do so.

There are a lot of things to catch up. Until now we have not finish the story of our life for the last 10 years. We cannot stop talking about memories when we were in primary school. We had done many 'silly' things together. How I wish we were studying in the same university so we can hangout everyday!

Teen Branding

Teenagers are very conscious about branding. They are the most targeted consumer groups. They are willing to adopt new products and brands. They like to try something different and new. The openness and energy teens inject into brands is useful to adopt curve that will stimulate mass-market success.Brands that promise and deliver confidence are especially powerful to teenagers.Teenagers like to explore the brand name deeper. They prefer to be engaged into a brand that let them seek out more information. Teenagers are the consumers of today and of the future. When a brand connects with teen, it could tap into a lifetime loyalty. Teens have primary purchasing power and influence. Teen will spend disproportionately large amount of money in those categories that they have high interest or involvement. Those categories such as footwear, clothing, music, mobile phones, home electronic and entertainment. A teen can purchase Nike Shoes that cost between RM 160 and RM 300. Teens are very aware with what they see in the advertisement. They like new things because they always want to be up to date. Having a brand that is on top in the market make them feel proud among their friends. For example, a teen girl would be really proud if she is wearing the latest design from Guess or a teen boy with his latest Nokia N95 mobile phone. These type of people will always be a brand loyal and they will make sure they get updated with the latest product of the particular brand. When the same boy find out about Nokia N95 8G he might want to get update with that new thing. There were once a researcher that is working on the assignment about teen branding. The participants were ask to answer a few question that related to brand judgment. They were asked to evaluate an advertised product (e.g.clothing) with a familiar brand name that are either popular (e.g,Zara) or less popular (e.g,Seed). Results indicate that teenagers use brand name as an important criteria in making consumer judgment. In the market nowadays, company will come out with a new idea and design of a product to attract teenagers to buy it.

Teenagers! Young, lovely, elegant, exciting, whatever it is, you name it! We choose branded goods like Nike. It keeps us going. Nike’s motto is “Just do it”. We wear this brand as it suits our personality; hype and outgoing. There are so many other brands in the market like Adidas, Billabong, Quik Silver, and etc, etc, etc. So many choices, yet how many can we buy? We do not care about the price as long as it makes us look good and funky. Of course, we would never dream of wearing something which is pirated; products purchased from Petaling Street. Imagine wearing a fake Rolex watch, would that not affect our image? Oh dear, how would we ever survive the embarrassment? At one stage, when Baby G watch was a huge hullabaloo, many youngsters buy this watch and show them off to their dear friends in school. After some time the trend fade away… and life goes on not caring about the long forgotten Baby G trend. As teenagers, we like new and impressive products, mainly branded ones. Oh dear, there will come a time when we are no longer teenagers, by that time it is goodbye to being a teenager and hello to adulthood! Oh well, till then life still goes on! Cheers!

Metrosexual Men

MetroSexual Men

Who or what are metrosexuals? Metrosexual generally applied to heterosexual men with a strong concern for their appearance, and who display many of the lifestyle tendencies of stereotypically gay men. These young men have money to spend, living in or within easy reach of a metropolis – where all the best shops, clubs, gyms and hairdressers are. They set the trend, then youngsters do tend to follow their lifestyle: the way they dress, eat, drink and behave. Some men shave their heads bald, while some others use studs and earrings. Most of these men are social icons for most people. They enjoy being the trend setter for most youngsters. As we can see above, there are three examples of metrosexual men : Ronan Keating, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs. Their pictures are often seen in the front cover of magazines and even newspapers. They posed for various products expecially the branded ones, such as Omega (watches) and Celcom and Brylcreem. David Beckham and Ryan Giggs attract fans from football. As for Ronan Keating, he sings!
In addition, men like Andy Lau gain his popularity via singing and acting. Most of these metrosexual men are seen in the music, sports and acting. It might take years before these men become popular, however hard work pays off. As the saying goes, failures are stepping stones to success. If these men can do it, why can't we? ..All we need is hardwork and perseverance...Cheers!!

Salam and a very good day ……

I just want to share something about an activity that I’ve joined in an expedition recently. It was in Perak, we went to Tempurung and Kandu caves for 3 days, (7,8&9 feb 08). It’s really an exciting experience with lots of adventures, and some sort of dangerous too. It took about 4-5 hours to be in the Tempurung cave, because we have to go through lots of activity in there. There was a tour guides named ‘Tok Janggut’ who lead us and he wasn’t as old as what that I thought. Guess? How old is he? huhuhu…
We climbed up about 1,500 stairs and have seen so many unique things in there such as the crystal stones , stalactites, stalagmites and some painted pictures on the wall made by the nature surrounding (the wind and water) itself and so on. Most of the pictures were animals like a monkey, cow, cat, an eagle and many more. The most interesting part in there was, we had to crawl at certain parts in the dark with our own torchlight and plus, moreover the parts contains of water which comes from a river nearby to reach out.
It’s a different situation while in the Kandu cave, there’re full of dust and bats. The hardest things was, we have to climbed up the hills with no stairs, but only depend on a long ropes provided. We reached up there and went into the cave. Just imagine how difficult it was. What I’m trying to say here is that it’s really amazing and enjoyable. Daaaaaa………

All Things That I've Done. 'S'

There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment, you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path? Will others tell you who you are or will you label yourself? Will you be haunted by your choice or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.
There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment, who will you be? Will you let down your defenses and find solance in someone unexpected? Will you reach out? Will you face your greatest fears with bravery and move forward with faith? Or will you succumb to the darkness in your soul?

Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small, like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are bigger, like when we let down a friend. Some of us escape the pangs of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past. And sometimes we bury our regret by promising to change our ways. But our biggest regrets are not for the things we did, but for the things we didn't do. Things we didn't say, that could have saved someone we care about, especially when we can see the dark storm that's headed their way.

'S' says 6470818671

At this moment, there are six billion, four hundred seventy million, eight hundred eighteen thousand, six hundred seventy one people in the world.....
Some are running scared....
Some are running home....
Some tell lies to make it through the day.......
Some are evil man, at war with good.....and some are good, struggling with evil
Others are just not facing the truth......
SIX BILLION PEOPLE in the world SIX BILLION SOULS..... And Sometimes? ALL YOU NEED IS ONE.

SOMETHING ABOUT 'S'

I definitely feel a lot more comfortable with myself and I care a lot less about what other people think of me because I’ve learned people will take every opportunity to criticize you whether you deserve it or not. Every girl goes through that in one way or another. It’s just part of life. I had every insecurity a girl faces and I’m not saying I’m completely over all of that, but, it’s never as bad as we make it. I have so much respect for girls who are totally happy with themselves. I’m just a normal girl who is comfortable with who I am. I don’t believe in changing myself for anybody and I think it’s really important for girls to be as comfortable with themselves as possible. Well, I am 5’9 where that makes me a public eye. Lol!! I believed that great friendship and relationship based on loyalty but after I had a couple of people betray me. I’m not a person who believes in holding grudges, but if anyone did something really terrible to me, it would be very hard to ever really trust that person again. So, I decided to Like everybody but Trust no one. I have wanted to be part of the fashion industry my whole life. I've learned from joining an entertainment world that it's not necessarily what you know, but who you know. I've been given an opportunity in some stuff, and my father- who is the smartest man I know- has advised me to capitalize on those opportunities. So that's what I'm trying to do- make contacts, get to know people. Hopefully that will help me as I start moving into my fashion career. That's my big goal. Before I end, there’s one thing you guys need to know that I HATE SUSHI. ~xoxo~
